Reverse Tuck End (RTE) Box Dieline Generator
Generate production-ready parametric dielines for Reverse Tuck End cartons. Calculates automatic 1.5 × t tuck clearances, friction lock shoulders, and chamfered dust flaps. Proof in interactive 3D WebGL and export to PDF, DXF, and SVG.
Anatomy of an RTE Folding Carton
The Reverse Tuck End carton is manufactured from a single sheet of paperboard, creased, slotted, glued along a side seam, and shipped flat (knocked-down flat / KDF) to be erected on fulfillment packing lines.
1. Opposing Hinge Directions (Reverse Tuck)
The top closure is hinged to the Rear Wall and tucks toward the front. The bottom closure is hinged to the Front Wall and tucks toward the rear. This ensures the primary retail display face remains completely seamless.
2. Mathematical 1.5×t Caliper Clearance
When paperboard folds, the inner fold radius compresses and outer fibers stretch. Our engine automatically applies a width reduction of 1.5 × t on both tuck heads. Without this reduction, tuck flaps buckle against the side dust flaps.
3. Locking Tuck Head Shoulders
Tuck heads incorporate 2mm-4mm locking shoulders that slip behind the folded dust flaps inside the box, creating positive friction resistance so cartons do not pop open in retail transit.
4. Chamfered Side Dust Flaps
Side dust flaps feature 35° lead-in chamfers (`dustBevel`) so the top and bottom lids glide smoothly into position without catching on rough raw edges.

Typical Commercial Applications
How to Assemble an RTE Folding Box
Erect Body Tube
Pop the flat-glued sleeve open by gently squeezing opposite corners until the four body walls form a 90° rectangular tube.
Fold Bottom Dust Flaps
Fold both bottom side dust flaps 90° inward into the carton opening to create the supporting shelf.
Close Bottom Tuck
Swing the bottom lid over the dust flaps and insert the tuck head backward along the rear wall until the locking shoulders seat.
Pack Product & Seal Top
Insert your product through the open top, fold top dust flaps inward, swing the top lid forward, and push the tuck head into the front.
